Honey-Badger Cops Attacked Splitting-the-Sky's Considerable Cojones

The honey badger, they say, attacks by going for the genitals of its foe. Somebody must have hired a couple of those nasty little beasts to serve as Calgary police officers.

During our recent interview (listen to the archive at http://www.noliesradio.org) Splitting-the-Sky said the cops bashed in his testicles after he was arrested for trying to arrest George W. Bush. The brutal assault came while he was while he was being held helpless in jail, after they had already broken his glasses and given him a concussion during the arrest, even though he wasn't fighting or resisting.

Adding insult to injury, the mainstream media won't cover the Splitting-the-Sky arrest story. Please circulate the videos everywhere:

Splitting-the-Sky will be invoking a civil resistance defense, arguing that it is war criminal Bush and the cops guarding him -- not a citizen trying to uphold international law -- who should have been arrested. This defense will allow Splitting-the-Sky to turn the tables and put Bush on trial for war crimes. This is a high-stakes, big-risk vs. big-reward move! Those honey-badger cops couldn't have found a bigger set of cojones to bash.

Please contribute to Splitting-the-Sky's defense.

Political Implications of Galileo Project; Obama's War Plans

guest blog by Rolf Lindgren, my former campaign manager (see Barrett for Congress website)

Galileo satellite imaging project: tension with the United States

Galileo is going to be a civilian system that allows anybody to use it. GPS is a US military system that was designed to provide location signals of the greatest possible accuracy to US military users, while also providing location signals to civilian users. Thus far, the US has had the capability to block the "civilian" signals while still being able to use the "military" signal (M-band). There also was (and technically as of early 2008 still exists) the possibility to degrade the "civilian" signals by introducing errors to make them less accurate and thus significantly less useful to non-US military users, a process called selective availability. Since Galileo was designed to provide its greatest possible accuracy (possibly greater than GPS) to anybody, the US was concerned that a hypothetical enemy could militarily use Galileo signals in strikes against the US. The frequency initially chosen for Galileo would have made it impossible for the US to block the (accurate) Galileo signals without also interfering with their accurate "military" GPS signals. The US did not want to lose the ability to themselves use accurate [Global navigation satellite system] while denying enemies the use of accurate GNSS. Some US officials became especially concerned when Chinese interest in Galileo was reported.

This is what led to some US officials to go as far as threatening to potentially shoot down Galileo satellites in the event of a conflict. The EU for a long time held the stance that Galileo was a neutral technology, available to all countries, with no military able to only deny their opponents the use of highly accurate GNSS. For a time, EU officials were considerably unsympathetic towards the US' desire to maintain their ability to use accurate GNSS for military purposes while denying non-US forces access to equally accurate GNSS. However, this EU-US standoff was eventually resolved by the EU agreeing to make Galileo use a different frequency, and the US would be able to locally interfere with/block the Galileo signals at the new frequency without interfering with their "military" GPS signals. In theory however, the "military" GPS signals could also be interfered with/blocked by a suitably equipped adversary, but interfering with either Galileo's signals at the new frequency or "military" GPS signals doesn't automatically block the other.

Has anybody here heard of the Galileo Navigation Project in Europe? It seems to me that Europe will have a satellite navigation system that is not controlled by the military, while the system in the U.S. is controlled by the military.

If the Galileo system is not controlled by the military, then wouldn't that make a 9/11 false-flag attack impossible, as the actual movements of planes could be independently tracked?

And is this one reason why the 9/11 attack could succeed in the U.S., because the military is in control of all the data?

If anyone has any information on this please let me know.

Obama's War Plans

Here are the elements Obama plans to announce:

'Obama's war' - New troops and new plan

Quote from article:

"Pakistan: The U.S. will continue to work with Pakistan and help them realize that the terrorist threat to the U.S. is as much a threat to them."

Are effin kidding me???

Let me get this straight,...

Pakistan, which borders Afghanistan, needs to be told by the US that a large country that shares a common border with them is a terrorist threat?

The people in Afghanistan can't figure that out one way or the other without our help??

Give me a friggin' break!!!

Webster Tarpley was right! There is going to be a war in central Asia. There is going to be another giant 9/11-style false-flag event blamed on "terrorists" in central Asia, probably involving nuclear weapons.

We just built 14 gigantic billion dollar military bases in northern and eastern Afghanistan, conveniently pointing towards Russia and China, with a few buffer states in between (Afghanistan actually shares a small border with China).

Hardly anyone in the US seems to know about these military bases. I only heard about them because Ron Paul mentioned them in the TV debates. I think its probable that if "we" are going to build these military bases, we are going to use them!

Wake up, 9/11 Truth!! No more bickering about what hit the Pentagon. It is time to unite!

Independent Jewish Voices Supports Freedom--Now How About Truth?

An Open Letter to Independent Jewish Voices (Canada),

Dear Independent Jewish Voices (Canada),

I appreciate your courageous stance on the free-speech-and-Israel issue, and am wondering whether your group would consider calling for a new 9/11 investigation.

I am the lead editor of 9/11 and American Empire: Christians, Jews, and Muslims Speak Out. In that volume, Rabbi Michael Lerner, among other distinguished contributors, voices strong doubts about the official story of 9/11 and suggests that revealing the truth might radically change the world for the better. Please note that since that book was published in early 2007, hundreds of engineers, architects, scientists, former military and intelligence officials, and other qualified people have come out against the official story of 9/11: http://www.ae911truth.org, http://www.patriotsquestion911.com

I am also the co-founder of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth http://www.mujca.com which is currently directed by Lou Stolzenberg loubikes(at)charter.net

If you were to issue a statement along the lines of "our members do not agree on how likely it is that there was official complicity in the 9/11 attacks, but we do agree that there should be a new investigation" it would be a major contribution toward peace and co-existence.

Remember, the vast majority of the world's Muslims (including me) thinks 9/11 was an obvious, in-your-face inside job. When we see groups like the ADL smearing Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth as "terrorists,"* and prominent Jewish left voices like Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, Matt Rothschild, Norm Solomon, David Corn, etc. etc. working against 9/11 truth, it does not help us overcome our prejudices. The fact that Jews are over-represented in leftist media and academic circles, yet under-represented among those calling for 9/11 truth -- and indeed over-represented among those attacking the 9/11 truth movement -- tends to reinforce all of the worst stereotypes many Muslims hold about Jews.

Jewish voices for truth, even more than Jewish voices for peace and civil liberties, can bridge the Jewish-Muslim gap and contribute to defusing the tensions between members of our respective faiths. Please consider making a contribution to that effort.

Kevin Barrett

Webmaster, Muslims for 9/11 Truth

* * Abraham Weitzman of the ADL, testifying before Congress in hearings on the "Homegrown Terrorism...Prevention Act":

"To illustrate the trends described above, we have put together a short PowerPoint demonstration. Without going into deep detail in these written remarks, I would like to offer some brief descriptions of the material that will be shown. The presentation begins with a look at how 9/11 is viewed in some eyes online, including those who applauded it as well as some conspiracies sites. The presence of the conspiracy site is significant, since so much of what passes as fact online is actually based on some form of conspiracy. These are often built around the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which allege Jewish control of the world, or around presenting the United States government as being engaged in various conspiracies or cover-ups, or ultimately having the entire Western world engaged in a vast, multi-layered conspiracy against the Islamic world."

The "conspiracy site" shown in Weitzman's presentation was Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, http://www.ae911truth.org. Please visit the site and make up your own mind whether it is a "terrorist" organization.

"Contrarian" Gitmo Guard Doubts 9/11 Myth, Converts to Islam

"His experience runs counter to academic studies, which show that guards and inmates at ordinary prisons tend to develop mutual hostility. But then, Holdbrooks is a contrarian by nature. He can also be conspiratorial. When his company visited the site of the 9/11 attacks in New York, Holdbrooks remembers thinking there had to be a broader explanation, and that the Bush administration must have colluded somehow in the plot."

Masha'allah. So here's a guy who doesn't become a sadistic bully just because he's a prison guard. And like the vast majority of Muslims, and more than 1/3rd of all Americans, he doesn't buy the ridiculous official myth of 9/11. Does this mean he's a contrarian -- or just a decent, thoughtful human being?

Our species could use a few more "contrarians" like this.

Also, it would be nice if Newsweek would stop using loaded language like "conspiratorial" to describe people who agree with almost all independent architects, engineers and scientists who have carefully studied the case, 80% of Muslims, and probably well over 50% of people worldwide that the official 9/11 story is a whitewash.

William Rodriguez & Splitting-the-Sky: Two Heroes to Join Me on Radio Tuesday

I'm not really the hero-worshipping type. I think we all have to be our own heroes these days.

That's why I love the 9/11 truth movement. Thousands and thousands of heroes--all standing up for truth and justice in their own thousands and thousands of ways. Google "leaderless resistance" to bone up on the advantages of this approach.

But let's face it: Some folks have that je ne sais quoi that separates the heroes from the other heroes. Courage is part of it, and seeing and seizing an opportunity for heroic action is another.

When William Rodriguez risked his own life to rescue the lives of others during the series of explosions that brought down the North Tower of the World Trade Center, then refused to be silent about those explosions (which began before the plane hit) he became a kind of mythic figure. Likewise, when Splitting-the-Sky got himself arrested while trying to arrest George Bush for war crimes, he became...well, he didn't actually BECOME a mythic figure -- Splitting-the-Sky has been a mythic figure for DECADES! Let's just say he confirmed his mythic status, and may even have taken it to a whole new level.

It is my pleasure to announce that these two extraordinary people will be joining me on "Fair and Balanced with Kevin Barrett" this Tuesday, March 24th, noon to 1 p.m Eastern (9 to 10 a.m. Pacific) at http://www.noliesradio.org

Splitting-the-Sky: The Rosa Parks of Civil Resistance?

Splitting-the-Sky, arrested while trying to arrest George W. Bush in Calgary, may become the Rosa Parks of civil resistance (CR).

Just as Rosa Parks said "no more" to a segregated South, Splitting-the-Sky has said "enough already" to a world where the worst war criminals walk free. And just as Rosa Parks inspired thousands to risk jail by defying the segregation laws, S-T-S could inspire thousands to attempt to arrest known war criminals, submit to arrest while doing so, demand jury trials, and invoke an international law defense.

Proving that great minds think alike, one of my readers just wrote:

I just read your blog. Kevin I think this is an incredible and serendipitious catalyst - the forest is drier than kiln wood and only needs a spark. Can we create a grassroots coalition to full-spectrum support this new "Rosa Parks"? Beginning with linning up a team of pro-bono attorneys? Francis Boyle and Lawrence Velvel to begin with?

Speaking of serendipity! I had just emailed Francis Boyle:

Dear Francis Boyle,

You may remember our talk radio conversation last year, which focused on your brilliant book "Protesting Power" and your ideas about civil resistance.

Another of my favorite radio guests, Splitting-the-Sky, just got himself arrested in Calgary while trying to arrest Bush, and is planning on taking a CR defense before a jury. STS is a smart, savvy, charismatic, eloquent, experienced, fearless and dedicated activist. If anybody could help CR really take off, leading to hundreds of people all over the world getting themselves arrested for trying to arrest war criminals, leading eventually to actual arrests of war criminals, it would be STS.

Let's hope that Professor Boyle can help STS, or at least point him in the direction of pro-CR legal counsel.

And don't miss what Splitting-the-Sky himself has to say about this remarkable adventure:

Splitting-the-Sky Will Take Bush Arrest Attempt to Jury Trial

Splitting-the-Sky called me last night to say he's out of jail and planning some serious civil resistance! After being arrested and charged with "obstructing justice" (what an irony) for attempting to arrest George W. Bush for war crimes, and getting beat up by the cops (concussion and broken glasses) Splitting-the-Sky is planning to demand a full jury trial. His defense will be that Bush is a known war criminal, that the Canadian authorities failed in their duty to arrest him, and that it is those authorities who should be prosecuted for obstructing justice--not citizens who attempted to do their duty under international law.

This is a classic "civil resistance" (CR) defense, as outlined by Francis Boyle in his critically important book Protesting Power. Boyle, a University of Illinois professor and leading international law expert, argues that ordinary citizens have the right, perhaps even the duty, to arrest war criminals in cases where the authorities are unwilling or unable to make such arrests.

When a citizen like Splitting-the-Sky attempts to arrest a war criminal such as Bush, it is of course the citizen who is likely to be the one arrested by the authorities. The citizen may then present a civil resistance defense to the jury. That defense, in a nutshell, argues that international law supercedes federal, state, and local law, that the target of the citizen's arrest attempt committed war crimes, and that the arrest attempt was therefore entirely legal and proper. According to Boyle, this defense is on sound legal footing. Not only that, but juries have found it persuasive!

Why attempt to arrest known war criminals, and then take a civil resistance defense to the jury?

First, because it is our duty under international law and common-sense morality.

Second, because it creates a courtroom venue in which the tables can be turned and the war criminals put on trial.

Third, because the publicity garnered by the arrest attempt and courtroom battle exposes the war criminals to the light of public scrutiny, which increases the chances that justice will eventually be done.

Boyle is careful to point out that CR is very different from civil disobedience (CD). CD involves violating a law, admitting that one has violated the law, arguing that the law is unjust and/or ought to be violated, and asking to be convicted and sentenced. In civil resistance, however, WE are the cops and THEY are the criminals. The CR activist who attempts to arrest a war criminal argues that it is those protecting the war criminal who, along with the war criminal, ought to be charged and prosecuted.

Boyle also points out that those contemplating civil resistance should plan their actions carefully. They should know what kind of penalties they may face (fines, jail terms) and be willing to take the risk. Also, they should plan their actions in such a way as to maximize the chances of a successful civil resistance defense. It is important to conduct the arrest attempt in a place where the civil resistor will be charged and prosecuted in a courtroom where the CR defense can be heard. Boyle pointed out on my radio show last year that the U.S. federal courts have been stacked with neocon fascist judges who ignore the law and will shut down any CR defense before it can be heard. U.S. state and local courts, however, generally allow CR defenses.

What are the prospects for a CR defense in Calgary, Alberta? It seems that Splitting-the-Sky, that heroic warrior for truth and justice, will soon find out.

Splitting-the-Sky arrested while attempting to arrest Bush

Splitting-the-Sky -- one of my favorite regular radio guests -- was arrested yesterday while trying to arrest George W. Bush in Calgary. This happened shortly after my live interview with Josh Blakeney, one of the arrest Bush activists on the scene in Calgary. You can listen to the archive of the show at:

Here is a message from Josh Blakeney:

Fellow Activists,

Today Splitting the Sky was unjustly incarcerated by the Calgary Police and has been detained until now. Both myself and Professor Anthony Hall (among others) waited at the Calgary Police Station to no avail and with a, at best, vague response to our requests about Splitting the Sky's legal status. The Police firstly adduced that STS: "was no longer here", then hours later they revealed that "he was here but would be released today," then they told us that "we cannot tell you anything to protect his privacy."At the press conference it was stated that no assault charges would be prosecuted against STS, then we received a message from STS that he was "going to be incarcerated overnight and that the RCMP had broken his glasses". Moreover when the hour reached 4.30pm I stepped outside the Police station for a few minutes and when I attempted to rejoin my comrades in the Police station I was told that "no people can enter the station after 4.30pm." When my comrades tried to assist me in reentering the building, they were all forcibly removed from the premises. Our long haul to retrieve STS (particularly in the case of Professor Hall who was still in the doorway of the Calgary Police station at 1am) has been characterized by the Calgary Police's mixed messages, hostility and half-truths.

Please view the footage of STS being arrested. Do you see any "assault" on the part of STS?

On a second pertinent issue, CBC highly exaggerated the "pro-Bush" protesters today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nZ3hq1bxbw There were just 2 people with pro-Bush banners (evoking questions over whether they were paid. I noticed their banners were professionally printed unlike our genuine hand made banners). I felt that the CBC report sought to portray the pro-Bush, anti-Bush "camps" and being on an even par. I also note that they mention nothing about Bush's accused crimes against humanity, despite the extremely hard work of LAW (Lawyers Against War). I say, shame
on CBC for their disinformation campaign.

in solidarity

Joshua Blakeney

Police keep protesters outside, while Bush cracks jokes inside at Calgary speech
at 18:29 on March 17, 2009, EDT.
Bill Graveland And Shannon Montgomery, THE CANADIAN PRESS

CALGARY - Former U.S. president George W. Bush was full of jokes as he spoke at a private luncheon Tuesday, while outside several dozen police officers worked to keep 200 to 300 unruly protesters under control.

At least four demonstrators were arrested outside the downtown Calgary convention centre where Bush was appearing.

"There is a war criminal upstairs that has committed murder," screamed one man, who identified himself only as Splits the Sky. "If I try to get in there you will arrest me. What is wrong with you?

"I am going in there and make a citizen's arrest," he said as he berated police officers and attempted to push past them. "Arrest George Bush. Arrest George Bush."

Some of those opposed to Bush's visit had already suggested before he arrived that he should be arrested as a war criminal because of alleged torture at military prisons in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay.

His speech to as many as 1,500 invited guests was one of his first public appearances since leaving office in January with a dismal approval rating and much of the blame for his country's collapsing economy...

Bush Arrest Imminent?

Will Bush be arrested for war crimes during his visit to Calgary tomorrow, Tuesday, 3/16/09?

If so, you'll hear it here first on "Fair and Balanced with Kevin Barrett," 9-11 a.m. Pacific (noon-1 pm Eastern), http://www.noliesradio.org

I'll be interviewing student activist Joshua Blakeney, who will be reporting live from Calgary during the visit of former president George W. Bush. Josh, his professor Anthony Hall, and other protesters are working to have Bush arrested for war crimes, including the crimes of 9/11/01. (Dr. Hall's article calling for Bush's arrest: http://www.truthjihad.com/hall.htm)

It would be great to see folks attempt a citizens' arrest of Bush! International law professor Francis Boyle has called for "civil resistance" (CR) meaning citizens' taking it upon themselves to enforce international law by arresting war criminals like Bush. Boyle explains that this is different from civil disobedience (CD) in which people break the law and ask for the full punishment. In CR, WE are the cops, and THEY are the criminals. In several cases, juries have agreed with this logic. According to CR advocates, Bush and any Secret Service agents conspiring to help a known war criminal avoid arrest should themselves be arrested by citizens at the earliest opportunity. Let's hope it happens in Calgary tomorrow! (For more on Boyle and Civil Resistance, see: http://baltimore.indymedia.org/newswire/display/16855/index.php)

My guest during the second half of the show will be Allen Roland, Ph.D. psychotherapist and 9/11 truth supporter, discussing the spiritual aspects of 9/11 truth. Check out Allen's Salon.com blog "Mossad's Obvious Connection to 9/11": http://blogs.salon.com/0002255/2009/02/26.html and his latest article "AMERICA'S DARTH VADER: DICK CHENEY": http://www.truthjihad.com/roland.htm.

9/11 Truth Rap in Guiness Book of World Records?

Tomorrow --Saturday, March 14th, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. -- Chris "Def" Defendorf will attempt to set a new world record for longest nonstop rap with a twelve-hour rap about 9/11 truth. (Certain family members of mine probably think I could give him a run for his money...)

The media coverage so far isn't covering the 9/11 truth angle: http://www.stargazette.com/article/20090307/NEWS01/903070314

Chris, a frequent guest on my radio shows, is an eloquent voice for 9/11 truth, and has even recorded an audiobook version of David Ray Griffin's The New Pearl Harbor.

Steven Jones Interview Goes Blooey: Coincidence or Sabotage?

Physicist Steven Jones, along with several other respected scientists from various nations, is about to publish a paper in a mainstream scientific journal that will, for all intents and purposes, prove that "advanced energetic materials" (nanothermates) were used in the controlled demolition of the World Trade Center. (Links to his work here.)

Somebody apparently doesn't want that information publicized. When I interviewed Dr. Jones for my radio show "Fair and Balanced" yesterday, the strangest things happened.

As I dialed the 800 number to establish my connection to the radio network, I heard some very strange sizzles and pops on the line. I hung up and dialed again. Same thing. I hung up, picked up the receiver, and listened to the dial tone being disrupted by the bizarre noises, which got louder and louder -- clicks, whistles, bangs, shrieks, you name it. It sounded like the aliens from "Mars Attacks" were landing in the middle of a Fourth of July fireworks display. The noises reached a crescendo, and the phone went dead.

After determining that all of my phones, including the jack at the box, were out of service, I called in to the show on my cell phone. Allan, the technical guy at No Lies Radio, said my connection sounded fine.

Then, as I was launching into my introduction "hello, you're listening to Fair and Balanced, this is your host Kevin Barrett" a hideous echo appeared on the line. I could hear my voice bounching back at me, horribly distorted, with a few seconds' delay. It sounded awful, and made concentration difficult.

Halfway through the show, during the break, Allan told me that my voice was coming through badly distorted, so I should let Dr. Jones do most of the talking during the second half.

It's still a great show, even if I do sound like Donald Duck on PCP. You can listen to the archive at http://www.noliesradio.org

I just emailed Steven Jones:

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the wonderful interview! I like the way the first half covered 9/11 research, and the second preparedness.

It seems odd to me, and to Allan at No Lies Radio, that:

*My landline died 15 minutes to showtime, right when I was calling in to the show.

*Then my cell phone, which had no echo when I was talking with Allan before the show, suddenly developed a terrible echo when the show started.

If having you on my show is so important that the bad guys have to mess with us, maybe you should come back on the show after the article comes out ; )

Take care, and keep up the terrific work!

Joe Lieberman introducing bill to strip suspected terrorists' citizenship

A day after suggesting that U.S. citizenship laws should be changed to strip American terrorists of their nationality, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) has introduced legislation to do just that. His bill amends existing law that revokes the citizenship of any American who joins a foreign military.

"I'm now putting together legislation [so that] any individual American citizen who is found to be involved in a foreign terrorist organization, as defined by the Department of State, would be deprived of their citizenship rights," Lieberman told reporters Tuesday. "If you have joined an enemy of the United States in attacking the United States to try to kill Americans I think you sacrifice your rights of citizenship."

Lieberman plans to move the legislation as a standalone measure, according to aides.

The proposal already has some support. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) agreed with Lieberman: "Americans should lose their citizenship rights "if they're designated an enemy combatant, yes." Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) tentatively offered his backing, telling AFP: "That sounds like something I'd support, but I'd have to look at the legislation."

It's not clear from the proposal when a person would be designated a terrorist for purposes of revoking their citizenship, but Lieberman also sided with Republicans who said that terror suspect Faisal Shahzad should not have been read his Miranda rights after his arrest. "If [authorities] make a judgment that this was a terrorist act, the person should be turned over to the military," he said.
